Chief of Party, Malawi We are currently seeking a Chief of Party to lead the anticipated USAID-funded Integrating Nutrition in Value Chains (INVC) project based in Malawi. INVC is designed to increase food security and nutrition and reduce rural poverty through integrated economic growth, nutrition and natural resource management strategies led by agriculture value chain and market development. To achieve this overarching objective, the project will focus on value chain competitiveness, nutrition-focused market linkages and the development of agriculture-oriented organizations and local institutions.

Responsibilities: • Provide technical leadership in one or more areas of focus for the program, as listed above. • Supervise all international consultants and local project staff. • Ensure quality and timeliness of all deliverables. • Prepare work plans and financial, logistical and other documents. • Review all financial and logistical information on a periodic basis. • Recommend and evaluate proposed staff. • Serve as principal liaison with USAID staff, institutions and client country partners to exchange information and develop professional relationships. • Make verbal or written presentations as requested by the COTR to various audiences.

Qualifications: • M.S., M.B.A. or other post-graduate degree in a relevant technical field • 10+ years of relevant and progressive work experience in Malawi, East Africa or other regions of Africa with a similar development context • 5+ years of progressively responsible supervisory work experience, preferably on USAID-funded projects of similar size and scope • Excellent communication and reporting skills • Contracts-management experience highly preferred. • Fluency in English required.
