CHF International is seeking a Chief of Party for the proposed USAID-funded APHIAplus Northern Arid Lands Service Delivery program in Kenya. This program will focus on improving integrated health service delivery and strengthening health systems at the provincial, county, facility and community levels in the Northern Arid Lands Region of Kenya.
This program will implement the APHIAplus service delivery model ensuring appropriate emphasis on maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition services within an integrated HIV/AIDS, FP/RH, MNCH program, provide innovative approaches for the “hard to reach” populations in the Northern Arid Lands Region, and ensure the continuation of essential services initiated over the past seventeen months, especially in HIV prevention, care and support.
The Chief of Party will provide overall management and general technical direction for the entire program. S/he will serve as a representative to the program, liaising with the donor as well as government entities in Kenya, and other partners. This position will be responsible for the program achieving target results, and will identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
Qualifications: •Master’s Degree in one of the following or related fields: Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine or Population •Minimum of fifteen years of successful implementation of related projects in HIV/AIDS programming, integrated HIV/AIDS, FP, MCH programs, and/or Health Systems Strengthening in developing countries. •5-7 years of prior successful COP experience or equivalent on large, complex international development donor funded programs; USAID/PEPFAR experience preferred. •Familiarity with health systems strengthening approaches and demonstrated success at working within government health systems. •Strong interpersonal skills. •Prior experience in Kenya or the region preferred. •Fluency in English required (written and spoken).
