The Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information (IPCRI) is looking for a Project Financial Officer based in Jerusalem.
IPCRI is a joint institution of Israelis and Palestinians dedicated to the resolution of the Israeli – Palestinian conflict on the basis of “two states for two peoples”. IPCRI recognizes the rights of the Jewish people and the Palestinian people to fulfill their national interests within the framework of achieving national self-determination within their own states and by establishing peaceful relations between two democratic states living side-by-side.
The Project Financial Officer is responsible for the administrative and financial management of a 1M USD project in Lod, Ramle and Jaffo with Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli youth. The position is for 2 years and full-time. This position is a starters position (1-5 years work experience) and IPCRI is looking for someone that can grow in the work of IPCRI and over-time take on more responsibilities within the organisation.
Period: February 2012 – February 2014 Salary: around 5,200 ILS/month net (depending on tax status of the candidate) Work hours: 40 hours a week (Sunday-Thursday)
Responsibilities: - Financial and administrative oversight over project, in cooperation with IPCRI's accountant - Guaranteeing compliance with the funder’s regulations concerning administration and financial procedures - Working with the project team, staying updated on the activities and their needs - Reporting to the funder - Assisting the Project Directors in administration and logistics - Leading additional fundraising efforts
Requirements: - Fully proficient in English, knowledge of Hebrew and Arabic desirable - Strong affiliation with the work of IPCRI - Knowledge about, and experience in, working in Israel-Palestine - Experience with project management, administration and financial management (no technical accounting skills needed) - Highly organized, timely and efficient. The position requires extensive timely and detailed reporting to the funder. - Affinity with funder relations and narrative report writing - Affinity with fund raising (especially proposal writing) - High level of independence, initiative, flexibility and a positive attitude - Legal work status in Israel (IPCRI cannot help candidates to obtain this status)
