Education Specialist – eLearning

The Position: COL is seeking an eminent and senior
professional to join as an Education Specialist–eLearning to develop and
manage information and communication technology (ICT) based activities
focused on policy development, capacity building in the use of
innovative learning technologies, and development of models and learning
materials. This work will include both formal and non-formal education
contexts.
The job holder will be required to provide technical expertise in
eLearning externally to Commonwealth governments, institutions and civil
society organisations and internally to COL staff. Extensive hands-on
experience in the use of open and distance learning (ODL) and Open
Education Resources (OER) is required.
The applicant must be committed to development and be able to respond
innovatively to the application of learning technologies. A minimum of
10 years of professional experience in the use of ODL and technology for
development is required. The position requires proficiency with office
technology and a readiness to travel internationally.
This 3-year initial appointment is renewable for a further term(s) by mutual agreement.
The person must: be a Commonwealth citizen with the ability to
network with a wide range of stakeholders and to work effectively with
people from different cultural backgrounds; have the ability to exercise
professional judgment, diplomacy and be a team player, while
representing COL’s interests internally and externally.
