You lead our Indian climate change adaptation projects and represent adelphi’s interests in South Asia. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of projects in climate change adaptation (CCA) in private sector and community contexts, including their linkages with disaster risk management, environmental issues, water, green investment and financing.
Tasks included:
- Develop and implement risk analyses and target-group specific adaptation strategy processes
- Identify policy priorities in the area of CCA, including green investment, biodiversity, and water
- Provide policy advice and policy-aware strategies for various target groups
- Develop and implement capacity building strategies for diverse target groups on CCA
- Provide intellectual guidance on CCA for adelphi and represent adelphi at conferences and work meetings; develop adaptation portfolio further.
- An advanced university degree in economics or industrial engineering with specialisation in environment or an environmental management degree with a good understanding of economics; ideally, knowledge of urban or spatial planning or work experience in urban/community/industry cluster context
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the fields related to climate change including disaster risk management, environmental issues, green finance as well as exposure to the full project cycle (project development, project implementation, project administration and monitoring/evaluation)
- Experience in climate change analysis and policy development, as well as in environmental and development economics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, German is a plus
- International experience working in development in several countries, ideally including South Asia.
