We
are seeking a highly motivated individual to support The Foundation’s
Indigenous Australia Program. You will provide high level support to the
Advocacy and Communications team and will work to ensure our programs
are delivering high quality and sustainable outcomes. Your technical
support skills, program experience and communication ability will be
utilised to support program delivery, increase our advocacy profile and
build capacity.
Founded
in 1992, The Fred Hollows Foundation has restored sight to over 1
million people worldwide and has recently been named one of Australia’s
best NGO’s. An ambitious strategic plan for 2014-2018 aims to take The
Foundation even closer to realising our vision of ending avoidable
blindness and improving Indigenous Australian’s health.
Reporting
to the Assistant Manager, Communications and Advocacy, you will be
responsible for providing technical support in the areas of policy,
research and project management. Your skills and experience in
influencing will contribute to strengthening our impact across our
Indigenous Australia programs. You will focus on communications,
building capacity and relationships that support our work.
In order to help us achieve our vision, we are looking for an experienced development professional to join our team with;
- policy and research experience in an international development, government or community context;
- hands-on experience in program planning and implementation;
- a strong understanding and working knowledge of the diverse circumstances and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
- strong research, policy writing and verbal English skills.

This position is a full-time permanent position based in Darwin.
