Children currently works in eleven provinces, has staff of
approximately 170 local professionals, and programming in Child
Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction,
and Humanitarian Response. Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking
to fill the following position:
Project Assistant – SPONSORSHIP
1 position, based in Sumba – NTT
Code : PA-SPONSORSHIP
Role purpose:
To work in the field on implementing
Early Childhood Education (ECE) and primary education quality programs
with participating communities and schools. The PA will support the
quality and timely implementation of program activities.
In addition, he/she will facilitate communications with sponsored
children and participating communities.
Reports to: Project Officer
Dimensions:
Participate in development of annual/monthly work plans, assist in
implementing activities in work plans, facilitate monitoring and
evaluation, represent Save the Children with communities, and support
communications/monitoring with sponsored children.
- Support the implementation of sponsorship project education activities in Sumba
- Support other technical staff to ensure that project activities are implemented according to the detailed implementation plan including supporting the technical implementation of the project in the field.
- With input from outside technical experts, support high quality technical implementation of all project interventions according to global best practices, and lessons learned from SC programming in Indonesia and globally.
- Ensure close collaboration with community-level local stakeholders including establishing and developing strong and effective relationships with children, communities, and schools.
- Facilitate activities including community mobilization, training, mentoring, monitoring, and project public events such as results dissemination.
- Participate in program evaluation including baseline studies and annual program evaluations.
- Support the implementation of an effective monitoring and evaluation system for the sponsorship project.
- Support sponsorship communication including regular contact with sponsored children.
- Support the Project Officers to ensure timely procurement of goods and services for project delivery
- Together with sponsorship team, support advocacy activities at the policy and community mobilization levels to ensure the sustainability of the project
- Provide timely reports on activities
- Participate in team meetings
- Support any other activities deemed necessary
- The
job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and
the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within
reasonableness of their level of skills and experience
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- At least 2 years work experience with non-government organizations in Eastern Indonesia
- Preferable, knowledge about ECE and primary education in Eastern Indonesia
- At least some experience in education programs, preferably with and international NGO
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Preferable English language proficiency
- Willingness to work in rural and remote areas
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to ride motorcycle and with appropriate license
- Proven ability to implement activities included in a work plan
- Demonstrated communication skills
