Frégate Island Private are currently recruiting conservation volunteers for a period of six months beginning October 2014.
The primary focus of the conservation program at this time will be
research and monitoring of our population of nesting sea turtles. Other
projects will include monitoring of birds, invertebrate sampling,
habitat restoration and mapping.
We are looking for adventurous and enthusiastic individuals with a
real passion for nature, looking to pursue a career in conservation
biology. Volunteers must be mature, confident and well-spoken
individuals who are happy to interact with guests on a daily basis.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum tertiary qualification in Biological Sciences or other relevant field.
- Age 21 or over.
- Fluency in English.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Willingness to work long flexible hours in tough tropical conditions.
- Applicants should work well independently and as part of team.
Provisions
- Food and accommodation (sharing) provided.
Travel
- Volunteers will need to arrange their own flights to the Seychelles. Transfers to and from Frégate Island and the Seychelles Main Island of Mahe will be provided.
- Successful applicants will be required to complete a medical assessment and forward the relevant documents to the Seychelles in order to obtain a working visa.
