Position: Project Coordinator - ENERGY
Reporting

SUMMARY
ChildFund was awarded a grant on
Lifestage 3 on youth employment, by the name of The ENERGY (Enhancing aNd
EmpoweRinG Youth). The project uses education as a key focus area to break the
cycle of poverty and stimulate economic development through ChildFund’s Youth
Forums by providing instruction in workforce readiness, ultimately providing
participants with the tools to secure employment for themselves.
The project will be implemented in Batam
and Cileungsi. Batam and Cileungsi have inadequate schools systems that contribute to both
communities’ high youth unemployment rates. Girls in both communities have been
disproportionately impacted by unemployment and lack of education. In Batam,
child prostitution and trafficking have increased significantly, and Cileungsi
has high rates of teen pregnancy and domestic violence.
The project is seeking a Project Officer
to establish four (4) Youth Forums for three hundred (300) youths (ages 15-24,
80% female) in Batam and Cileungsi. These Forums will provide the skills and
knowledge (including: training modules provided by Intel and CBET Module
developed by ILO).
The Project Officer will also provide
technical assistance to ChildFund Indonesia’s Local Partners in batam and one
Pesantren in Cileungsi and liase with local government (district office of
Manpower, Social welfare and Education) and businesses, to establish internship
opportunities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management and coordination of the project in general, including planning, budgeting, implementing and monitoring.
- Supervision of the project team (1 Project Officer and 1 Project Finance Officer).
- Develop and maintain a project plan which is reflective of project progress and milestone.
- Conduct project monitoring visits, training preparation and spot checks and address identified performance problems or discrepancies.
- Work with Project Officer, Project Finance Officer and others to develop budgets, track spending, and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Field study to identify best practices and improvement needed if necessary
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders to allow the successful delivery of the project activities.
- Serve as point of contact with local community, local government and donor Liaise with donor, local community and local government.
- Representation meetings with local community, local government and donor, as required by ChildFund Indonesia. Build network and collaborate with local and international organizations, local government in the same project scope.
- Responsible for high quality and timely donor reporting, and high quality and timely regular reporting to ChildFund Indonesia.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 6+ proven track record on conducting baseline, end line, program evaluation and related surveys. Experience in conducting KAP survey will be an advantage.
- Must have experience in managing youth program (youth employment and/or youth entrepreneurship). Past experience in establishing youth forum (youth empowerment) will be a value added.
- Experience in coordinating projects, ideally within an international scope
- Have experience in managing program funded by corporations under CSR.
- Demonstrated experience with the design, implementation, management and evaluation of programs preferred
- Good oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and present complex information in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
- Must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
- High level of English proficiency both oral and in writing.
- Self motivated, details oriented and highly organized.
- An ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Must be able to travel to program locations.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree, equivalent relevant work experience;
advanced degree desirable
