KOMPAK Data Analyst for Sustainable Livelihood Approach
Program Overview
KOMPAK
(Governance for Growth) is a large and complex program that is uniquely
placed to add value to the Government of Indonesia’s (GOI) own efforts
to improve the social and economic conditions of its citizens; it is
aimed at economic expansion and poverty reduction in Indonesia. Abt JTA
is supporting frontline services—including health and education—while
identifying governance constraints. The work accompanies implementation
of Village Law and Local Government Law (UU 6/2014 & UU 23/2014),
and new national rules that empower local communities and increase the
direct flow of money to village governments and services. KOMPAK seeks
to strengthen the capacity of all levels of government to improve
services, respond to citizen needs and contribute to stable prosperity.
The Opportunity (6 months with possibility of extension)
Based
in Jakarta and commencing December 2015, the person appointed for this
position will provide data analysis, prepare systematic reviews of
selected and relevant themes in terms of developing and implementing a
national strategy on Sustainable Livelihood Approach.
Role
responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Collect and analyse data required to support development of the GOI strategy in sustainable livelihoods approach;
- Provide inputs for GOI strategy in sustainable livelihoods approach in the 2016 Government Annual Plan (RKP);
- Support implementation design of programs including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation;
- Develop useful and insightful information of P2B (Sustainable Livelihood Program) from a variety of data sources; and
- Provide other programming/data/analysis support, as required.
Our Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Urban and Regional Planning, Statistics, or related subjects;
- Minimum 3 years of computer programming work experience relevant to data analysis in academic research, private sector or in government;
- Experience working with large (quantitative survey) data and qualitative data; excellent knowledge of economic and social development surveys; knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and software including STATA/SPSS/SAS;
- Technical skills related to monitoring and evaluation;
- Experience working on community development projects involving government and development partners;
- Must be able to analyse and present complex information;
- Strong presentation, communications and writing skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in sensitive and challenging policy environments; and
- Demonstrated ability to perform successfully within a team as well as the ability to work independently to deliver quality work.
