Commonwealth of Learning (COL) helps governments and institutions

The Position: COL is seeking an eminent and senior professional to join as an Education Specialist – Agriculture & Livelihoods to develop and manage a programme initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of marginalised farming communities, particularly for the benefit of women, through the use of technology-enabled learning and through linking communities with various stakeholders such as government, financial institutions, the private sector and civil society. This initiative also involves establishing models to address issues related to agriculture, forestry and fisheries within the context of livelihoods security, social and gender equity, and environmental sustainability.
Applicants should have a minimum of ten years of professional experience working in open, distance and technology-mediated learning and training related to agriculture and livelihoods. The position requires proficiency with office technology and a readiness to travel internationally.
This 3-year initial appointment is renewable for further term(s) by mutual agreement.
The Person: Must be a Commonwealth citizen, with ability to network across multilateral organisations and to work effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. An ability to exercise professional judgment, diplomacy and work in a team, while representing COL’s interest internally or externally, is paramount to this role.
