support the design and delivery of high quality, timely and accountable
Livelihoods and Cash programming in the MENA region and be able to
cooperate with our team on a regional level.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an International non-governmental organisation, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people in over 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection andadvocacy programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Libya/Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey and a Regional Office (RO) in Amman. DRC has 17 offices and about a thousand staff members across the MENA region.

The MENA Regional Livelihood & Cash Advisor provides technical support to DRC operations for livelihoods programming and cash based assistance (cash, vouchers, and Cash for Work initiatives) in the MENA region, covering so far 7 countries where DRC works – Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Libya and Tunisia.
Duties and Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you must have a university degree or equilevant in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, Political Science and at least 4-5 years of experience in the design and implementation of livelihoods, market-based and cash programming in the private, public and /or humanitarian sector including market and livelihood assessment, supply chain analysis, livelihood counseling, skills development, vocational training, income generation activities, cash for work schemes, business grants, business management and any support to SMEs.
Furthermore you must have:
DRC will offer the successful applicant a 12 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work on March 10th, 2016 and be willing and able to work from Amman, Jordan, or Beirut, Lebanon.

- Operationalization of DRC’s regional livelihoods strategy,
- Development of innovative, strategic partnerships with international, regional and local public and private actors, including industry leaders, entrepreneurs, civil society and the relevant authorities,
- Support to the development and implementation of regional livelihoods programming, such as the Madad-funded Livelihood Consortium project,
- Strategic and technical support to country operations on livelihoods and cash programming, including capacity building,
- Coordinating and spearheading cross-countries’ learning and building the evidence base for quality programming.

- Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking, with strong communication, representation, coordination, training and writing skills,
- Fluency in English is required,
- Able to travel to countries within the region on short notice.
- Ability to speak, understand and write Arabic though not required
- Previous experience in NGOs,
- Previous experience in working with MENA region will be an asset.
