Social Work Technical Advisor

will be joining the multi-disciplinary team of Friends-International
(FI) comprised of over 600 professionals committed to creating
innovative social services for youth, children and families worldwide.
What will you do?
As
a Social Work Technical Advisor you will ensure high quality of social
services that protect and save lives of marginalized children &
youth, their families and communities across Southeast Asia and beyond.
This includes providing direct support and capacity building to Friends programs and partners.
As a SOCIAL WORK TECHNICAL ADVISOR your responsibilities will include the following:
- Building capacity of teams on the field through support, trainings, guidance, individual coaching and specialist consultations
- Ensure social services standards of procedures, guidebooks and child protection policies are well implemented by the teams
- Represent Friends on all key relevant meetings with various stakeholders including partners, donors and government, by advocating Friends position, values, vision and mission
- Provide input into annual strategic plans to ensure relevance of services and alignment with the national priorities
- Support Friends and partner
teams on the field by providing specialist consultations and monitoring
activities for quality and relevance
About you:
- You are a dynamic, innovative, effective and proactive team worker who enjoys building capacity of your peers in a participatory and enabling approach, while keeping an open mind to environment and local context
- You are passionate and driven by child-centered approaches by maintaining focus on bringing high quality social services for marginalized children & youth, their families and their communities
- You have relevant and proven knowledge, skills and experience (5 - 10 years) in the field of social service provision, coordinating people and building systems
- You’re open to and excited by learning and adapting to new contexts and situations with humility and reverence for your peers and Friends partners
- You have good skills in supervising projects that involve multiple stakeholders across different countries
- You have excellent skills in training and coaching on the job with a focus on transferring knowledge and skills
- You’re able to think strategically, globally and collaboratively; bring practical, hands-on solutions to the table
- You are comfortable working within an international team environment
- You have superb communications skills especially working with non-native English speaking peers
- You have excellent English language skills, and any other Asian language would be a plus!
You will be based in our Headquarters in Phnom Penh with travels nationally and in the region.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
