PROVINCIAL COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH COORDINATOR (2)

The Provincial Communications and Outreach Coordinator will assist the SLP Communications Manager and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist to implement the SLP Communications and Outreach strategy to effectively communicate and raise the visibility of the SLP program and its conservation issues and key messages to donors, partners and stakeholders (government, private sector, NGO, academic, and local communities) through the dissemination of communications materials and implementation of outreach events.  S/He will capture data and information to support the key achievements of the program. S/He will provide technical assistance to team for issues on information collections, and data management. S/He will establish a database and collection system to ensure data and information can be gathered, and analyzed in a practical, timely, and sufficient manner. S/He will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the SLP Communications Manager and M&E Specialist. S/He will work in close coordination with SLP’s Chief of Party and CI HQ Communications Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support SLP external communications and outreach activities:
  • Maintain communications channels with key stakeholders in the field sites such as, work with influential figures to promote a positive view of SLP, work to resolve issues or misunderstandings and to create strong relationships throughout the community; 
  • Prepare SLP information for social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and website) posts with supports from CI Indonesia IT team; 
  • Support the drafting and development of SLP communications materials (press release, brochures, factsheets, success stories, newsletter); 
  • Plan, research, interview, write, edit, proofread and distribute press releases and other substantive articles to be published on SLP’s and/or CI’s website (SLP News); 
  • Coordinate team to provide reports, photos+captions, quote, numbers/data, and quote for every activities in the local level; 
  • Coordinate the process of implementation of monitoring and evaluation process including supporting capacity building for staff;
  • Coordinate and monitor any baseline studies, monitoring activities, assessment activities, and end line studies;
Support SLP internal communications and outreach activities:
  • Ensure the consistent use of SLP Branding Guidelines and templates in all SLP communication materials by SLP’s Jakarta and field-based teams and consultants and grantees/subcontractors; 
  • Ensure the implementation of SLP Communications Protocols (e.g., Style Guide, file naming protocol) by all SLP team members;
  • Support preparation of donor reports (work plan, annual and semi-annual) and monthly government reports;
  • Coordinate the inputting and updating data in the monitoring and evaluation system;
  • Create simple database for inputting data, and make a simple presentation based on the tracking table prepared my M&E Specialist;
  • Coordinate in collecting, saving, and distributing communications material internally and externally;
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
  • A degree in communications or related field, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in communications, journalism, and/or natural resource management related field; 
  • Demonstrated experience working with national media, especially with news placement;
  • Proven track record in obtaining, analyzing and reporting on project/program results for donors, and a broader audience;
  • Proven track record in working in challenging settings to achieve successful outcomes in improving strategic environmental services and natural capital management;
  • Experienced with donor reporting and developing systems to capture data that can be reflected in accurate and well written reports;
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and Bahasa Indonesia (reading, writing, oral and presentation);
  • Able to deliver presentations; interpret and present information to suit the target audience;
  • Able to work with a variety of stakeholders from local and national governments to the private sectors;
  • The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, team-oriented and able to meet project deadlines often under difficult circumstances;
  • Ability to work in a team and also able to work independently;
  • Computer skills and experience in relevant software (ie, MS Office, Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat);
  • Active in Social Media platform.
