Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of Head of Sub-Office in Hakha and the technical supervision of International Vulnerability Analysis & Mapping (VAM) Officer in Yangon, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for, and not limited to, the following duties:
Education:
Secondary school education. Supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to programmatic activities will be advantaged.
Desired Experience for Entry into the Role
Preferable to have at least four years of progressively responsible support or humanitarian work experience.
Knowledge of humanitarian assistance and development practice. Training and/or experience utilising computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other standard WFP software packages and systems.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar. Ability to speak in local language will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of Head of Sub-Office in Hakha and the technical supervision of International Vulnerability Analysis & Mapping (VAM) Officer in Yangon, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for, and not limited to, the following duties:
- Assess project performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets, ensure that the School Feeding activity is well managed, which includes planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the programme;
- Maintain records on programme activities, from formulation stage through completion, by extracting relevant information from reports, project committees, budget records and other documentation; make specific program related information available for country briefing, country profiles, and other related purposes; ensure project cycle deadlines are met;
- Analyze contract terms and conditions, and correct any observed discrepancies between contract rates and invoice amounts;
- Carry out advocacy and information related tasks for the school feeding programme activities such as making interventions and presentations in meetings, workshops, seminars, missions;
- Prepare status and progress reports by providing information and background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions;
- Monitor ongoing shipments, pipeline information, contribute, in collaboration with the M&E unit, to the elaboration of adequate monitoring tools;
- Liaise with TEOs & government officials in the promotion of WFP activities in the project areas to ensure that food is distributed to targeted schools and school children; Provide technical guidance, including capacity building activities, to TEOs focal, SOs and other programme staff as appropriate;
- Assist Head of Sub-Office with beneficiary targeting and community profiling to ensure effective programming; provide VAM perspective as Sub-Office Project Review Committee;
- Assist Head of Sub-Office with Monthly Reports, authoring sections related to the current food security situation;
- Serve as focal point for all VAM activities in Sub-Office area (including technical management food security monitoring system);
- Train Sub-Office staff as well as WFP implementing partners and other assessment or food security monitoring partners on food security analysis, assessment activities and food security monitoring;
- Manage all assessment activity in Sub-Office area, assisting the VAM officer in design and implementation of baseline and emergency surveys;
- Manage market place monitoring system;
- Critically analyze all emerging food security information from Sub-Office to ensure that local context is adequately captured;
- Perform data analysis using excel or SPSS and efficiently work on a wide variety of databases;
- Review and analyze secondary data and literature on food security;
- Ensure effective coordination at local levels with food security assessment and monitoring partners;
Education:
Secondary school education. Supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to programmatic activities will be advantaged.
Desired Experience for Entry into the Role
Preferable to have at least four years of progressively responsible support or humanitarian work experience.
- Has facilitated communication with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
- Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
- Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.

Language:
