is seeking an experienced and motivated professional, keen to secure a
career as a project manager within a dynamic non-profit that builds
partnerships to bring responsible products to market.
Project Manager
The
successful candidate will have professional experience working with
businesses on responsible sourcing initiatives, and be passionate about
environmental and social issues. The position is based in Jakarta,
Indonesia, and requires frequent travel.
Key Role
- Provide leadership to and collaborate with TFT staff working to implement the sustainability policies of our key client in Indonesia;
- Support the ongoing capacity building and development of the TFT Indonesia team;
- Coordinate with and provide technical support to our client(s);
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of field operations to ensure key deliverables are met;
- Report writing, meeting documentation and communications and planning
Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategic work plans for advancing the production and availability of responsibly produced products with emphasis on supply chains;
- Assess forest management practices and traceability systems for supply chains and identify best practice measures;
- Manage and oversee delivery of project outcomes, reporting and communication;
- Be part of a motivated and innovative team applying their passion towards practical solutions that tackle complex challenges at the forefront of sustainable production in Indonesia.
Special Conditions
- Staffs are often required to work outside office hours to fulfill the duties of employment.
- This position will require regular meetings with leaders of large, multi-national corporations, as well as travelling extensive domestic travel in Indonesia to visit plantations and factories, as well as international travel for meetings. For this reason, the candidate should thrive in both corporate and field settings.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher level qualification in forestry, natural resource management, supply chain management or related field
- A minimum of three-five years working in or with businesses, ideally in forestry, supply chain management, procurement or timber chain of custody
- Good understanding of and high interest in environmental and social responsibility issues
- Strong strategic, management and coordination skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Able to handle multiple tasks and work autonomously
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of forest management and chain of custody standards and up-to-date comprehension of corporate sustainability commitments
- Knowledge of wood products, food products and/or agro commodity supply chains
- Experience in forestry or business development
- Some Bahasa- and/or willingness to learn.
