Chemonics seeks a finance manager for the anticipated USAID-funded
READ Liberia! education initiative. READ Liberia!, a five-year,
early-grade reading activity will aim to improve early grade reading
skills for Liberian students in grades one and two in targeted counties.
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a
difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure full financial and contractual compliance of READ Liberia! activities with USAID regulations
- Establish internal control systems, accounting and financial reporting protocols for local subcontractors and grantees, and compliance oversight policies and procedures
- Oversee accounting, disbursement, and budgetary matters
- Ensure procurement compliance with USAID and Chemonics financial regulations and grant management policies
- Oversee staff and partner NGO training sessions in financial systems
- Assure timely financial reporting to USAID
Qualifications:
- Master's of business administration; public administration; accounting and/or financial management, or a master's-level degree in a similar field required
- Experience in financial management of USAID or similar donor-funded development activities with progressively increasing levels of responsibility required
- Demonstrated grants management experience on donor-funded development projects required
- Experience in financial management for development projects of a similar scope and scale
- Membership in a professional body, such as Certified Public Accountants, preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
