To maximize PAC’s impact, our international activities will be implemented by a Field Operations team. This team will work in collaboration with our subject matter experts, the Technical and Operations Support team, to ensure the mobilization of PAC’s expertise in keeping with our strategic direction.

Director, Field Operations
The Field Operations Director, reporting to the Executive Director, is a senior position at Partnership Africa Canada. The Field Operations Director is responsible for the management of all country offices, overall implementation of field activities, and the reporting on progress of activities.

- Investigating and reporting on the lack of accountability, poor governance, and human rights violations associated with conflict minerals.
- Developing and implementing solutions in collaboration with local partners to improve natural resource governance, including the certification of conflict minerals and clean supply chains.
- Providing capacity-building and technical assistance to support transparency in the mining sector, including the development of industry guidelines.
- Promoting policies and programs that support gender equality and women's entrepreneurship in artisanal mining.

Director, Field Operations
The Field Operations Director, reporting to the Executive Director, is a senior position at Partnership Africa Canada. The Field Operations Director is responsible for the management of all country offices, overall implementation of field activities, and the reporting on progress of activities.
Program Management:
- Responsible for overall implementation of field operations and delegated responsibility for field delivery of high-quality programing.
- In collaboration with Technical and Operations Support team and Field Project Managers, implement innovative, high-quality programs that align with Partnership Africa Canada’s strategic direction.
- Develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders and PAC partners including governments, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society to ensure successful program delivery.
- With the support of the Technical and Operations Support team, ensure PAC’s gender and environment strategies are implemented throughout all programs.
- Collaborate with the Impact & Innovation team on program development, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation, and the sharing of learnings.
- Oversee all Partnership Africa Canada field offices, including compliance of organizational policies, as well as donor and host-country regulations.
- Manage the Field Operations team, including hiring, capacity-building, and performance evaluations.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Field Operations team.
- Work with field offices to improve and streamline operational systems, processes, and policies.
- Serve as a budget holder for field programs, and manage and support sub-budget holders.
- Ensure the preparation of timely and high quality progress reports, program reports, and donor reports.
- In collaboration with the Finance team, support the planning, monitoring, execution and reporting on program budgets.
- In close coordination with other members of Partnership Africa Canada’s leadership team, stand accountable for program progress and delivery in accordance with grant agreements, objectives, milestones, timeframes, and on budget.
- A minimum of seven years of senior management experience in a non-profit environment, including significant experience managing field operations.
- A university degree (masters or equivalent work experience) in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience managing programs over $5 million.
- Demonstrated task management, with experience managing a complex workload.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with conflict resolution experience in international team settings.
- Demonstrated experience in reporting on progress to organizational leadership, donors and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control, including managing grants from major institutional donors.
- Experience managing and developing a high performing team, with the ability to lead and motivate others.
- Understanding of issues surrounding natural resource governance, including human rights and conflict, as well as transparency and accountability in the extractive sector.
- Fluency in English and French (written and verbal).
- Ability to travel internationally, possibly frequently and to difficult environments.
