Position Title: Project Manager, Livelihood
Status: Regular Full Time
Location: Patna, Bihar
Job Summary: To
support RDI Trust in achieving its objective of securing land rights to
poor, and be responsible for implementing project(s) in collaboration
with government and other stakeholders.
Reporting relationship: The position reports to the Programme Manager. There may be other direct reports.
Availability: RDI
Trust follows a work week of 40 hours. Staff may be required to work
extended hours in case of exigencies. The position requires extensive
travel within the district and occasionally outside.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for district and local level co?ordination with Government and Non?Government counterparts for timely implementation of planned activities specifically related to livelihood promotion among poor land reforms beneficiaries.
- Responsible for timely submission of information, reports and documents.
- Identify and overcome programme challenges and learning through regular site/village visits, interaction with project partners and other stakeholders.
- Identify human interest stories and work with team members to develop into case studies.
- Training and capacity building of stakeholders on agricultural extension for livelihood augmentation.
- Take up other relevant responsibility as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Fair understanding of project planning and implementation
- Understanding of issues of rural poor in general and agricultural extension practices in particular and a commitment to the poor for adding value to improve their livelihood.
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with government and other public agencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and writing and proficiency in English and vernacular language.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines.
- Gender sensitivity and commitment to promote gender equity.
- Commitment to the mission of a better, safer future for the world’s poorest people, especially women, through land ownership and secure land rights.
Education and Experience
- University degree in humanities or related management studies
- Minimum working experience of 5 years on rural development issues.
