The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is based in New Delhi,
India. CSE is India’s leading public interest research institution,
known for its rigorous scientific policy research and advocacy on
environmental issues. The Energy (Global) Team is seeking a part-time
Research Consultant for CSE’s upcoming project relating to the thermal
power sector in Indonesia.
Job Profile:
This part-time Consultancy will be based in Indonesia (preferably
Jakarta) for between 3 – 6 months for approximately 12-15 hours per
week. The Consultant will support CSE in carrying out research and
analysis on environmental issues relating to the thermal power sector in
Indonesia. This will mainly involve obtaining relevant factual
information and data about the coal-based thermal power sector in
Indonesia (which may include gathering both primary and secondary
research) to assist CSE develop a comprehensive technical overview of
the sector and an overall understanding of its operational and
environmental efficiency.
Necessary Skills:
Bachelors or Masters qualified candidates in engineering or
environmental sciences with 1-3 years of experience may apply.
Journalists with energy/environmental story reporting experience with
2-3 years experience may also apply. Exposure to the industrial
processes, technologies and environmental practices will be an added
advantage.
