impaired, blind and otherwise disabled persons in the poorest regions
of the planet. As an internationally recognised NGO we strive towards
ameliorating the quality of life of those affected and towards the
implementation of human rights for persons with disabilities. To
strengthen our team we are looking for a Programme Development Officer (full-time)
Your areas of responsibility:
As
part of the international Programme Development Hub you take the lead
in developing and growing long-term partnerships with selected major
public and institutional donors - linked to LIGHT FOR THE WORLD’s
thematic areas of work like Eye Health, Inclusive Education, Community
Based Rehabilitation, Disability Rights, Livelihood or Disability
Inclusion. Internally, you will also act as the resource person for
institutional funding for one of these thematic areas.
Within
the team you contribute to exploring emerging partnership and
resourcing areas like impact investment or private sector engagement and
their potential for the organization. Therefore, your active
involvement in strategic and operational planning is key.
A
key part of your role will be to work with our local teams in the focus
countries where we work to guide, support and build their capacity to
raise public and institutional funding in-country. With your
subject-related expertise you help develop strong capacities within our
country teams and local partners to effectively manage institutional
donor contracts and grants.
Your profile:
You
have several years of experience in the development of programmes /
projects in the field of international development as well as in the
acquisition and management of public and institutional donor funding
(e.g. USAID, EC, DFID, large international foundations etc).
You are a person with strategic thinking skills and a skilled communicator with a convincing personality.
Your refined social and facilitating skills characterize you as much as
your ability to act in complex surroundings. You are interested in
development cooperation, and especially the inclusion of persons with
disabilities. Excellent written and oral English and preferably French
language skills round of your profile, as together with data bases and
good MS Office skills.
