for the best candidate for the position of: Law Enforcement and Wildlife Trade Staff, Jakarta.
This position will
be based in Jakarta and report to Wildlife Crime Unit Coordinator.
The job holder
will be responsible to develop
a strategy for combatting widlife crime in Sumatra, mainly in Aceh and Central
Sumatra to stop tiger and other protected species illegal trade within Law
Enforcement and Wildlife Trade and in accordance to the conservation
strategy of WWF Indonesia; coordinate and facilitate the intelligence led enforcement efforts
of WWF Indonesia and relevant law
enforcement agencies in order to disrupt wildlife crime, such as organized Tiger other species illegal trade in
Indonesia,. This will include monitoring
of the most strategic Tiger/other species seizure cases in Indonesia and
assisting to the Indonesian government to address organized Tiger and other species
illegal trade. The position will also coordinate with TRAFFIC South East Asia
office to address transborder Tiger/other species illegal trade
chains from Sumatra to the end markets. Furthermore, he/she will need to
support the development and maintenance of wildlife crime database for WWF
Indonesia, including on line illegal wildlife trade.
Requirements for This Position are:
- Possess a minimum Bachelor Degree qualification and/or a professional background in a field relevant to law enforcement, wildlife conservation, management, conservation policy or equivalent, Master Degree are preferable
- Minimum working experience of three (3) years in a related field and similar capacity
- Significant professional work experience relevant to law enforcement and/or nature conservation with emphasis on law enforcement, familiarity with major trends in biodiversity conservation policy and its implementation, as well as issues relevant to the importance of effective law enforcement in reducing poaching and illegal wildlife trade where it impacts critically endangered species.
