National Consultant for Preparation of full TCP Project supporting local feed self-sufficiency for aquaculture development in Indonesia
Under the overall supervision of FAOR Indonesia and direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (A-FAOR Programme); technical supervision of the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) and in close consultation with the international consultant and national authorities, the Consultant will work to prepare the final draft of the TCP project document on supporting local feed self-sufficiency for inland aquaculture in Indonesia. The detailed tasks are as follow.
He/she shall specifically perform the following tasks:
Conduct field survey and literature review for collecting the relevant data for preparing a background review paper on status of aquaculture feed, raw material supply, government policy, strategy and regulations related to aquaculture feed manufacturing and marketing, and the constraint of feed in Indonesian aquaculture development, in particular inland aquaculture;
- Share the background data collected with the international consultant and present background review report at the national consultation;
- Assist the Directorate General of Aquaculture (DGA) of Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) and FAO-Indonesia to organize the national stakeholder consultations for formulating the full TCP project supporting local feed self-sufficiency for inland aquaculture development in Indonesia, facilitating the consultation and provide the technical inputs;
- Support the work of the International consultant in formulating the TCP project document through provision of relevant data and information and language facilitation;
- Facilitate the communication of the international consultant with the DGA- MMAF especially Directorate of Fish Feed, and relevant agencies and stakeholders in identifying key project outputs and priority activities to be included in the full TCP project;
- Prepare End-of-Assignment Report at the end of his/her assignment covering all the activities undertaken during the assignment period;
- Undertake any other tasks as required and appropriate for full delivery of the TCPF;
Qualifications: Advanced University degree in fisheries and/or inland aquaculture with a minimum of 5 years of working experience on fish feed management. Good ability to prepare report in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Duration of assignment: 18 days on when actually employed basis including 10 travelling days divided into maximum 2 missions to targeted sites.
Duty station: Home base with travel as required.
