- Do you want to work in a community organisation that contributes to civil society HIV responses in Asia and the Pacific?The Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations is recruiting staff for our new Sustainable HIV Financing in Transition (SHIFT) program, which will commence in 2017. This team is critical to AFAO achieving its goals in strengthening key population and community responses to HIV in the region.
All positions are based at AFAO office in Bangkok, and will be recruited at salary levels competitive with regional community networks and organisations in Asia and the Pacific. This is a full time position.
AFAO works to strengthen advocacy and policy engagement, technical capacity and organisational development for community-based organisations in Asia and the Pacific. We promote human rights, sustainability and access to services for key populations, including people living with HIV, gay men and other men who have sex with men, people who use drugs, sex workers and transgender people.
AFAO collaborates with civil society partners at regional and country level to engage government, development partners, UN agencies, and key population and community stakeholders, with a focus on financing, investment and sustainability for key population and community responses to HIV. AFAO works to increase advocacy capacity and access to strategic information and evidence, and strengthen space for civil society. We also work with the Australian Government and other partners to strengthen and contribute to Australia’s regional and international HIV efforts.
The positions are offered until 31 December 2018, with opportunity for extension subject to funding.
