The Maram Foundation Job Vacancy: Liaison Officer - Izmir, Turkey

The Maram Foundation for Relief and Development (Maram) is a non-profit organization, founded by American-Syrian activists with the aim of alleviating the suffering of people in need, since its inception to date the foundation had delivered lifesaving aid and developmental projects to hundreds of thousands of Syrian IDPs and refugees along with host committees.

Liaison Officer

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintains dialogue with counterpart ministries and liaises with counterpart Government Ministries and Departments concerned on protocol, policies and procedures, and advise management and Project staff accordingly.
• Coordinates with key actors in Izmir, including local authorities, NGOs and INGOs.
• Updates key government counterparts, NGOs and INGOs about the status of Maram Foundations programmes and projects.
• Works with the Project coordinator and Project manager to strengthen partnership with key actors in Izmir.
• Updates the service mapping with updates of services inside Izmir given by govt. İnstiutions, or NGOs and INGOs.
• In close consultation with the Turkey Refugee Response Department, supports the Sr. Programe Manager and Project Coordinator in overall partner,donor relationship management.
• Undertakes special projects and tasks as may be require.

Qualifications:

• Fluent Turkish and good command of English is required, Arabic language skills preferred;
• Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, international personnel, government actors, and the NGO community;
• High level of oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions in English and Turkish;
• Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
