Research and Customer Experience Lead for USAID Inclusive Workforce Development Grant
To fulfill the grant, Workplace Options will work with a team of three other organizations to build a training and job matching program and application. The project leverages the existing, but diverse, expertise of each of the partner organizations to more efficiently connect poor and vulnerable Indonesians to workforce development training's and eventually employment opportunities. The project will cover 4 provinces in Indonesia and target 250,000 poor and vulnerable people.
The Research and Customer Experience Lead will be charged with translating user and stakeholder ideas and needs into a product design and requirements that IT can build. They will be charged with research design, planning, UI requirements and designing wire frames. The pilot phase is short and so the design process will need to be efficient and the Research and Customer Experience Lead will be charged with prioritizing and managing expectations.
The application will include adult online learning tools and management platform. Therefore experience in designing education tools or with poor and vulnerable populations of Indonesia is preferred. Successful applicants will have strong research and design experience. Technical experience is not required, but an understanding of the technical process is preferred.

- Effectively meet deadlines throughout a project
- Work closely with both IT and marketing teams to make sure needs and expectations are being managed.
- Engage with the private sector to build more effective models for distributing and collecting training.
- Engage with target populations to better understand usage
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
- At least 5 Years’ experience in project management and design
- Experience working on mobile phone applications
- Experience working on products designed for education and training or targeted at the poor and vulnerable populations of Indonesia
- Ability to manage a diverse set of stake holders
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation) skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (above average Excel skills)
- Strong language skills in both English and Indonesian
- Adaptive, problem solving orientation.
