Evidence Utilization Specialist
DAI Global, LLC seeks an Evidence Utilization Specialist for USAID’s Flagship Maternal and Child Health Program, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Flagship Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Activity promotes the development of locally led solutions to prevent maternal and newborn deaths and extend essential health services to remote and impoverished areas.
The Evidence Utilization Specialist will work to ensure a seamless progression from the generation of evidence through research to the use of evidence to strengthen national MNH policies and programs. The EU Specialist will also work in concert with the MERL Director to ensure that this evidence is available and used at the global level to promote global policy and standards development.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversee technical quality and lead field-level implementation of activities related to evidence utilization.
- Provide targeted assistance to field staff, partners, and grantees to ensure that they have access to data, and to build their capacity in using that data for decision making
- Contribute to the identification and development of country-level activities to ensure that an explicit RU strategy is included in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all research projects
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working within Indonesia’s health system with expertise in evidence utilization/data for decision making.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field required; PhD preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing in English.
- Previous exposure and experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring dissemination plans for knowledge products highly preferred.
- Experience working with government, NGOs, donors, and other relevant stakeholders
- Ability to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines.
