Summary/purpose of the position
Reporting to the Fundraising
Director, the Deputy Fundraising Director is responsible for the overall
management of GPEA donor development, from middle donors through to
major gifts. The role is focused on donor development, and providing
senior input and guidance to fundraising strategies and line management
and support to the Hong Kong and Taiwan Regional Fundraising Managers.
Responsibilities:
The Deputy Fundraising Director will work closely with relevant staff to:
- Coordinate and manage the major gifts programme
- Develop the middle and high gifts programme
- Promote the acquisition of donor moves management
- Manage the Trans-National Funding work
- Provide line management and support to the HK and Regional Fundraising Manager, and the TW and Regional Fundraising Manager
Requirements:
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of major donors in order to develop relationships between them and GPEA
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical and organisation skills required.
- In addition to these general skills, the position requires the ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle:(1) to initiate contacts with potential major donors; (2) to develop appropriate cultivation strategies for them, including working with volunteers; (3) to move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure; (4) to make solicitations when appropriate; (5) to maintain stewardship contacts with donors.
- Must be able to travel around the GPEA region (Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Mainland China)
- The candidate will be an individual with a rich development background, who has had progressive and successful development experience in major gifts and who has a strong track record of successful management. The ideal candidate cares deeply about mentoring development staff and the development profession
