VACANCY: PROVINCE PROGRAM ASSISTANT – SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, FAMILY PLANNING
JSI Research and Training Institute (JSI) is recruiting for the position of Provincial Program Assistant – Supply Chain Management, Family Planning. This position is based in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
BACKGROUND
The My Choice project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is designed to contribute to the Government of Indonesia’s Family Planning goal to increase the nation’s modern Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (mCPR) by overcoming identified barriers and creating a consumer-driven environment where every woman can choose and have access to the right contraceptive method given her life stage.
JSI is implementing the Contraceptive Supply Chain Management component that will support demand generation and access to FP services by ensuring the availability of a range of contraceptive methods at Districts and the network of FP Service Delivery Points (SDPs) within the selected districts. JSI works with BKKBN and its SCM stakeholders at the Provincial and District level to ensure that all SDPs at the District level maintain a required level of Contraceptive stock for range of modern contraceptive methods.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Assistant for supply chain management will be required to be based in Makassar, South Sulawesi and this position would require considerable travel to the project districts in South Sulawesi. This position will report to the Province Program Officer for the SCM component of Project. He/She will be responsible for coordination and monitoring of project activities at the province and district level and provide technical assistance in the area of supply chain management for the family planning program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate activities with BKKBN provincial and district teams as well as district government, district health office and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develop Work plans and provide technical assistance and training on relevant supply chain components (Storage, Inventory Management, Distribution etc.)
- Coordinate and participate in various family planning and inter sectorial forums/working groups at the province and district level representing the supply chain component.
- Work with the consultants at the district level for SCM improvement
- Coordinate with project consortium partners and represent JSI at consortium meetings.
- Monitoring activities – Assist/provide logistics monitoring and supportive supervision at project sites. Act as point person for field-based monitoring and supportive supervision of logistics management Assist in data collection and data quality assurance.
- Assessment activities – Assist in organizing and conducting logistics assessments at project sites, including development of assessment tools, use of tools, and analyzing results.
- Reporting – Prepare reports and disseminate activity results to the national office and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate and schedule site visits as needed.
- Keep on top of new operating system (Android) releases
- Document found issues and steps to reproduce
- Investigate issues reported by customers
- Develop manual test procedures
- Execute manual test procedures
- Test mobile applications on various operating system
QUALIFICATIONS
- University undergraduate degree (masters is preferred) in Public Health, Pharmacy, Logistics Management, Business management or related field.
- At least five years professional experience in implementing development programs, including at least two years’ experience in logistics.
- Experience working with public health commodities and logistics/supply chain management is preferred.
- Monitoring and evaluation experience is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of BKKBN and the family planning program is strongly desired.
- Ability to prepare and present information related to public health and supply chains.
- Ability to work in a team to develop strategy and manage implementation of projects
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to work effectively as a part of a team.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Excellent knowledge of Android Phone.
- Experience supporting a mobile application is strongly desirable
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and proficiency in English highly desired.
