Plan International Indonesia is presently implementing its country strategic 4
(CS 4) covering fiscal year 2017 to 2022, where the country objective has been
defined as “to identify and facilitate the removal of obstacles that prevent
children from enjoying their rights and participating fully in Indonesian
society”.
The organisation’s purpose is to “strive for a just world that
advances children’s rights and equality for girls”. This goal will be achieved
by providing technical support and implementing quality programs and projects
through partnership. An effective and efficient communications strategy is a
must for Plan Indonesia to share the outcomes of these projects to influence
different actors, specially state authorities and to position Plan’s profile
within and outside at different levels – starting from community, sub district,
district to national, regional and international levels.
Yayasan
Plan International Indonesia is looking for dynamic staff
to be based in Jakarta for the position: Gender and Inclusion Specialist
Role Porpose: Gender and Inclusion
Specialist provides national leadership in developing gender equality and
inclusion skills, tools and capacities of Plan offices and staff across Yayasan
Plan International Indonesia (YPII). The position will lead Plan’s programme
and policy work on gender equality and inclusion, and will support the
monitoring of Yayasan Plan International Indonesia’s progress towards gender
equality and inclusion for the fulfilment of Country Strategy 4 (CS 4).
This involves the development and execution
of a gender checklist for projects, coherent with Plan’s Global Policy on
Gender Equality and Inclusion, and which ensures that Plan’s analysis, policies
and programmes become a center of excellence on gender equality. Gender
Equality and Inclusion Specialist will ensure that a clear vision, consistent
message and coherent approach is driving momentum on gender equality in
Indonesia.
This position will be responsible for leading
a series of initiatives that will inspire transformative change on gender
equality and inclusion—across offices, amongst staff, and within programmes.
They will provide the support to the Girls Get Equal campaign in the region, so
that it is translated into effective influencing and campaign that has a direct
positive impact on the communities with which Plan works.
This will include being involved in Global
Gender and Inclusion Group and Regional Gender Network, in order to spearhead
national programme and policy initiatives that are linked with Girls Get Equal.
They will lead internal processes to promote
innovation, learn from experience, build capacity and identify high impact
drivers of change across the region. The
Gender Equality and Inclusion Specialist will represent Plan in national,
regional and global forums and influence policy makers, building Plan’s
reputation as a highly respected contributor in the field of gender equality.
Technical Expertise, Skills, and Knowledge, Essential Bachelor
Degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: international
development, gender, inclusion, human rights, psychology, sociology,
international law or other social science field, Minimum of 3 years of work experience working on development programmers, Excellent communication skills
(verbal and writing) in English and Bahasa Indonesia, Knowledge of the links between gender equality, children’s rights
and NGO development programming practice.Demonstrated understanding of girls’
rights issues, contextualized to an NGO and the linkages between the Convention
on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the
Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs ) Knowledge of gender analysis programme frameworks and their
application to child and youth-rights programming, Excellent understanding of the practicalities of designing,
implementing, and evaluating high quality programmes that promote gender
equality and girls’ empowerment, Excellent
understanding of relevant policy-making processes and institutions on gender
equality and inclusion, Ability to
design proposals, guidelines and standards, monitor and evaluate gender
equality and girls’ empowerment programming, based on sound gender analysis, Strong team work, Ability to build internal and external networks across countries, Facilitation and training skills for
adults, Dealing with conflict with
tact and collected manner
Desirable Advanced
university degree, Knowledge of Theory
of Change and socio-ecological framework,
Knowledge of social norms research and other tools to ensure that
researches are gender sensitive and inclusive, Knowledge of adolescent sexual reproductive health and rights
(ASRHR) and gender based violence (GBV),
Strong ability to communicate theoretical concepts on gender and inclusion
in simple terms and to apply these to practical solutions to promote gender
equality and inclusion. Ability to
inspire others and bring them around a common agenda, Strong management and public mobilisation skills, Confident public speaker with media
skills, Facilitation and training
skills for children and young people
Range Salary : IDR 9 000 000 - 13 000 000,-
