Job Purpose
The objective of the assignment is to provide support to PMI’s management in financial, tax and accounting for Lombok and Sulawesi Tengah operations to ensure all financial reports required by IFRC are produced in high quality, accountable, transparent and on timely manner as per donor requirements as well as tax payment and reporting to Government of Indonesia.
Job Responsibilities
The focus of the job would be to provide financial, tax and accounting to PMI specifically for Lombok and Sulawesi Tengah operations with detailed tasks as listed below but not limited to:
- Support the operations to deal with all financial management issues as per PMI and IFRC policy and procedures
- Advise operations on financial matters; support in accounting and implementing sound financial management practices
- Process all financial transactions such as dropping, working advances, advance settlement and payment request as per IFRC’s policy and procedures
- Facilitate operations in drafting documents/correspondences/reports on financial issues to be dealt with IFRC in close coordination with PMI’s Head of Finance Bureau and Treasurer
- Make sure financial reports and documents arrive on timely manner in HQ and submitted to IFRC CCST office
- Verify monthly expenditure statements and financial records submitted by field offices
- Conduct field monitoring visits if necessary, to make sure the field offices manage the program financial management in accordance to PMI and IFRC rules and regulations.
- Perform monthly reconciliations needed to produce financial reports on monthly basis for IFRC as per PMI’s templates
- Support PMI to prepare periodic financial statement (monthly, quarterly, semester, yearly)
- Liaise and coordinate with PMI’s Head of Finance Bureau, Treasurer and other staff for effective implementation of the project.
- Support PMI to prepare tax payment and report to Government of Indonesia for all tax liabilities arise from project’s transactions.
- Carry out any other work related to financial management assigned by PMI
Requirements
- Professional / academic qualification in finance, accounting and administration services (min. graduation degree in commerce)
- Degree in accounting
- Experience of working for the Red Cross / Red Crescent is preferred
- Experience of working with Federation accounting and administrative systems is preferred
- Experience in Administration
- Experience in writing narrative and financial reports is preferred
- Experience of project cycle using participatory methodologies is preferred
- Experience of local commercial & contractual systems
- Minimum 3 Years work experience in a finance or accounting and administrative roles
- Advanced skills in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word processing and accounting packages)
- Experience of and ability to use manual accounting systems
- Skills in training and developing staff
- Knowledge and experience of CODA
