Save the Children Job Vacancy: Project Officer - Disaster Risk Reduction Program, Jakarta - Indonesian

Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As ‘Prospect Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.
We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
Project Officer - Disaster Risk Reduction Program
1 position based in Greater Jakarta Field Office
ROLE PURPOSE:
Project Officer for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) will assist implementation of small grant DRR project; with potential to grow. This position will work coordination with the key implementing partner as well as other Greater Jakarta Disaster Risk Reduction project team in the same area. S/he will be responsible for technical activities related to progammatics implementation and closely monitoring of all project activities in the field, S/he will involve in the review and update of the project detail implementation plan (DIP). S/he will ensure that all activities are implemented and outcomes are assessed. S/he will reports to the DRR- Program Coordinator, and be supported by a finance, administration and logistic team in Greater Jakarta-office
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least Bachelor University Degree or equivalent in a Disaster Risk Management or Environmental Sciences or Social Development
  • At least 4 years working experience with non-government organizations or development programs, with some of the experiences in managing School Based Disaster Risk Reduction project.
  • Knowledge on Comprehensive Safe School Frameworks is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal presentation communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to work fast, effectively and independently in often high pressure environments, working across number of teams to deliver high communications output.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as in a team as well as to develop and maintain strong relationships other office staffs and beneficiaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports and other project documents in Bahasa Indonesia and English. 
  • Proven ability to manage financial resources according to donor and organization regulations, and also reporting requirements.
  • Having experience working in urban-slum area is preferable, particularly Greater Jakarta.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
