Reporting to the Specialist Biological Assessments, you will:
- Independently lead biological surveys in remote Pilbara areas.
- Undertake effective survey planning including, sampling design, logistics, and health and safety.
- Prepare technical reports, data, analysis, and provide technical advice to support government and environmental approval requirements.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and technical specialists.
- Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Environmental Approvals team.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in botany/zoology/ ecology/environmental science or related.
- Demonstrated experience as a field botanist/biologist, ideally within the resources sector.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with an ability to think on your feet and make sound rational decisions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to quickly develop positive and robust relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS
- Experience/awareness of remote sensing techniques and environmental applications
