SurfAid International is a non-profit organization working towards healthy and resilient communities in remote areas connected to us through surfing. We have community-based health and food security programs in the Mentawai, Sumba, and Sumbawa islands.
We are urgently looking for an experienced, multitasking, resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude as our:
HUMAN RESOURCE (HR) MANAGER
The HR Manager reports to the Country Director and is responsible to lead Human Resources management; from planning, recruitment, administration of compensation & benefit, staff performance and capacity building, system improvement to government reporting.
THE PERSON:
You are an experienced and independent manager with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and decision-making. You are resourceful and creative, and it would be great if you are used to working with small organizations or within a small team. You are helpful and don’t mind being hands-on as needed and you also have attention to detail. You have great interpersonal skills so you can establish effective working relationships with your colleagues as well as external stakeholders.
THE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Law, or Management
- More than 5 years experience in Human Resources management
- Good knowledge of employment law in Indonesia.
- Experience with safeguarding topics such as child protection, PSEAH, inclusion, fraud.
- Experience in improving HR systems and processes to better support the teams.
- Experience in capacity building and setting frameworks for staff development.
- Good understanding of the issues that affect employee relations particularly in remote areas, as well as experience in conflict management.
- Able to speak and write English to an effective working standard.
- Able to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Familiar with working on virtual settings and technology-aware, including doing supervision in a remote setting / from a distance.
This position is based in Bali (we prefer someone who is already living in Bali) or works remotely with regular visits to Bali as necessary. You are also expected to visit our field offices in remote areas.
