YRII, previously Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia as globally with Islamic Relief Worldwide we have been fighting poverty and injustice for 30 years, in a world where more than three billion people still live in poverty

Country Purpose:
Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia has been operating since 2003 and officially became Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia in January 2022. The objective of the Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia program is to contribute to the social welfare of the Indonesian people and to alleviate suffering. The main sectors for the program include:

The geographical area: NTB, Aceh, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, West Java, and Jakarta Province will be expanded to all regions of Indonesia according to the development of the organization. The implementation of the program is carried out directly by YRII or through cooperation partners.

Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia is seeking a FINANCE OFFICER for Fundraising Support based in Jakarta

Reporting Line:
The post holder would directly report to the Finance Coordinator

Responsibilities:
  • Recording and Reporting Donation Finances: Ensure that every incoming donation is accurately recorded in the CRM system. This includes the donation amount, date, payment method, and other relevant information.
  • Data Verification and Validation: Verify that all data entered into the CRM system related to financial transactions is accurate and consistent with the organization's financial records.
  • Donation Transaction Security: Responsible for ensuring that payment processes and financial transactions through the CRM are secure and protected from potential fraud.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all transactions recorded in the CRM comply with applicable regulations and provide necessary documentation for donors to claim tax deductions (donation receipts, etc.).
  • Provision of Reports for Donors and Stakeholders: Financial reports in accordance with PSAK 109 must be provided to donors, stakeholders, and other related parties to show how their funds are used. This supports transparency and increases donor trust in the organization.
  • Separation of Funds for Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah: According to PSAK 109, finance staff must ensure that funds received for zakat, infaq, and sedekah are separated and recorded separately in the financial reports. This ensures that funds used for specific purposes (e.g., zakat) are not mixed with other donations and comply with applicable regulations.
  • External Audit: Responsible for preparing all accounts and providing necessary documentation to support the external audit process. This external audit provides assurance to donors and other stakeholders that financial reports are accurate, reliable, and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Provision of Financial Data for Segmentation: Providing the financial data needed to segment donors in the CRM. For example, data on donation amounts, donation frequency, or other types of contributions that can help the CRM team design a more personalized and effective approach.
  • Preparing Financial Updates: Collaborating with the CRM team to ensure that financial updates (e.g., reports on fund usage or achievement of targets) can be effectively communicated to donors. This helps maintain good relationships between the organization and its donors.
  • Addressing Donor Financial Inquiries: Playing a role in providing clarification or answers to financial questions that donors may have. For example, questions about fund allocation or updates on the use of donated funds.
  • Donation Trend Analysis: Can assist the fundraising team in analysing donation trends based on existing financial data. By understanding donation patterns, they can provide valuable insights to design more effective fundraising strategies.
  • Fundraising Campaign Evaluation: Work with the fundraising team to assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns from a financial perspective. This includes analysing the return on investment (ROI) of the campaigns and providing recommendations for future improvements.
  • Updating Financial Data: Ensure that any information related to the donor's financial status, such as changes in donation patterns or the status of major donations, is regularly updated in the CRM system.
  • Preventing Data Duplication: Work with the CRM team to ensure that recorded donor data is not duplicated and remains well-organized.
  • Managing Fund Flow: Assist in monitoring the flow of funds from donors recorded in the CRM to ensure that the funds are used according to the purposes set out in the fundraising campaign.
  • Managing Special Funds: For donations allocated for specific purposes, ensure that the funds are disbursed according to the donor's instructions recorded in the CRM.
Requirements:
  • Good general education to Bachelor Degree or equivalent level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general IT skills.
  • Experience in administration support, preferably within the charitable sector.
  • Ability to accurately count and record money, and maintain precise financial records.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to take initiative and work without regular prompting.
  • Willingness to work some unsocial hours as required.
  • Strong interest in development work with respect for confidentiality and commitment to YRII’s overall aims and objectives, including gender, equality, and equal opportunities in all aspects of YRII’s work.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Accounting qualification or similar.
  • Experience in fundraising, although not essential.
  • Experience with customer relationship databases (CRM).
  • Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies or issues.
  • Ability to empathize and make professional judgments within emotionally challenging environments.
