Meliore Foundation Job Vacancies: Deputy Network Director Asia – Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia & Malaysia

Closing date: Sunday, 31 May 2026

Meliore is seeking a strategic and ambitious team leader to serve as Deputy Director for the Asian arm of an international network of strategic communications professionals. This role offers a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in Asian politics, economy and environment to work closely with the Asia Network Director, multiple country teams and an Asia regional team to advance sustainable development, clean energy and climate justice across the region.

The Deputy Director will be a politically savvy and hands-on communications leader with a strong background in integrated and digital-first campaigns who can shape high-level regional strategies as well as translating them into clear, actionable workplans, and ensure effective execution across multiple country desks and regional workstreams. We are looking for someone with experience managing diverse teams and projects across different geographies and cultures, and a proven ability to build and maintain trust through remote collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of structuring complex work, keeping multiple priorities moving, driving experimentation to stay ahead of the curve, and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality strategic communications in fast‑moving political environments.

Working in close partnership with the Asia Network Director, the Deputy Director will help colleagues across Asia develop and implement creative strategies that shift both online and media conversation among key audiences on climate and energy. A significant part of the role will involve building internal clarity, aligning priorities, and helping to coordinate external partnerships and campaigns across the region.

Further information will be provided to candidates selected for interviews.

How you’ll contribute

  • Work closely with the Asia Network Director to shape political and communications strategies and campaigns in Asia and ensure that they are translated into clear workplans, timelines and responsibilities, and are effectively implemented across the region.
  • Support desks to ensure organic digital, paid digital, earned media and offline approaches are working in tandem as part of truly integrated campaigns.
  • Drive a culture of experimentation and innovation across the Asia team to ensure campaigns are fully harnessing the strategic environment.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and coordination for a diverse Asia team, including regional functional roles and cross‑country projects.
  • Help prioritise and sequence work across multiple country desks and thematic campaigns, ensuring that limited resources are focused on the highest‑impact opportunities.
  • Create an enabling and accountable team environment by setting clear expectations, supporting problem‑solving, and proactively enabling professional development and growth of team members.
  • Strengthen internal ways of working, including regular planning, tracking and review rhythms.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing coaching of key Asia team members.
  • Work with colleagues to stay across the trends in the online and media communications spaces (regulation, communications technology advancements, shifts in audience behaviour), and clearly articulate what they mean for long-term strategy, skillsets, structure and approach.
  • Contribute to building, maintaining and utilising relationships with a wide range of partners across Asia, in support of efforts by country desks working at national and regional levels.
  • Support capacity‑building on strategic communications planning and delivery for partners and allies in the wider climate community, in coordination with the Asia Network Director and the global network.
  • Contribute to internal and external monitoring, evaluation and reporting on Asia‑wide work, including synthesising inputs from different countries and workstreams for global leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted deputy to the Asia Network Director, occasionally representing the Asia team in internal and external meetings when required.
  • Any other duties to be assigned from time to time.
